How ChoreBlaster works

Everything you need to get your family up and running.

🚀 Parent quickstart

1
Create your household

Sign up and you're in. Give your household a name if you like — takes about 60 seconds.

2
Add your kids

Add each child's name and choose an emoji avatar. Optionally set a 4-digit PIN so only they can access their view.

3
Add chores

Assign chores to each kid and set a point value — you decide what each chore is worth. Free accounts support daily chores; Plus unlocks weekly, monthly, and custom schedules.

4
Add rewards

Create rewards kids can spend their points on — screen time, a treat, a special outing. You set the point cost.

5
Share the family link

Go to Account → copy the Kid View link. Bookmark it on your family tablet, TV screen, or any shared device.

6
Kids take it from here

They tap their avatar, complete their chores, and request rewards. You approve fulfilled rewards from your parent dashboard.

Getting started

Do kids need their own accounts or devices?
No. ChoreBlaster uses a shared-screen model. You share one link that acts like a family kiosk — any kid taps their avatar to get to their own view. No email addresses, no kid accounts, no passwords unless you set PINs.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern browser — phone, tablet, laptop, or a shared screen like a TV with a tablet attached. Nothing to install.
How do kids access the app?
You share a private link (found in Account → Kid View Link). Bookmark it on a shared device. Kids tap their avatar, optionally enter their PIN, and they're on their chore screen.
Can I set PINs for kids?
Yes. You can set a 4-digit PIN per kid so only they can access their view. You can also set a separate parent PIN to lock the parent dashboard from the kid screen.

Chores

What chore schedules are available?
Free: daily chores only. Plus: daily, weekly (rolling or fixed day of week), monthly (rolling or fixed date), or every N days.
What happens when a chore is completed?
The chore resets to its next due date automatically and points are added to the kid's balance immediately.
Can I pause a chore without deleting it?
Yes. Chores can be paused and resumed any time from the parent dashboard.
Can I assign the same chore to multiple kids?
Chores are assigned per kid. To give the same chore to multiple kids, add it once for each.

Points and bonuses

How do I decide what a chore is worth?
You set the point value for every chore — there's no formula. A quick chore might be worth 5 points; a bigger one 50. Match point values to what feels fair for your family, then price rewards accordingly.
What is a Clean Sweep Bonus?
When a kid finishes all their chores due today, they earn a bonus worth 25% of the total chore points for the day — between 5 and 20 bonus points. It's an incentive to go all-in, not just do the easy ones.
What is the Momentum Bonus?
When a kid completes 80% or more of their due chores for the day, they earn an extra 5 points. It rewards effort even when they can't finish everything.
How do streaks work?
A streak grows when a kid earns a Clean Sweep multiple days in a row. Streak milestones award bonus points and badges automatically: Day 2 (+10 pts), Day 3 (badge), Day 5 (+25 pts Legendary Chest), Day 7 (parent brag notification). Missing a day resets the streak.
Can points go negative?
No. The system won't let a kid redeem a reward they can't afford.

Rewards

What kinds of rewards can I create?
Anything you want — extra screen time, a special meal, a small toy, choosing the movie, a day off chores. You name it and set the point cost.
How does redeeming a reward work?
A kid taps a reward and requests it. Their points are reserved immediately. You see the request in the Pending tab of your dashboard and tap Fulfill when you've delivered it. The kid gets a notification on their screen.
What is a Family Bonus? (Plus)
A special reward the whole family works toward together — like a family movie night or a trip. Once the parent marks it redeemed, it clears and you can set a new one.

Badges

How do badges work?
Badges are earned automatically when kids hit milestones — building streaks, earning total points, completing chores consistently, or finishing specific chores multiple times. No setup required.
What's the difference between Free and Plus badges?
Free accounts include 20 starter badges covering the most common achievements. Plus unlocks the full badge cabinet with many more milestone and mastery badges.

Plans and billing

Is the free plan really free forever?
Yes. Free supports up to 2 kids with 5 chores and 5 rewards each — no time limit, no credit card needed.
What does Plus add?
Up to 5 kids, unlimited chores and rewards, all chore schedule types, the full badge cabinet, family team bonuses, 90-day history, weekly email reports, and smart reminders. Starts with a 14-day free trial, then $4.99/mo or $4.08/mo billed annually.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts. Cancel from your account settings and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.
Do you offer family referral codes?
Yes — ask us. We occasionally give out codes that unlock Plus access for a trial period.
